Dean has had a passion for real estate his entire life. He began his real estate career in Montana in 1982 fresh out of Montana State University and in 1990 he helped start a Century 21 franchise in Mazatlán, Mexico. After moving to the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997 he continued his career and in 2003 formed Dean Gilpin & Associates, Inc.
Originally DGA was established as a luxury tier boutique brokerage focused on the Private Oceanfront Golf Course Communities of Hokuli’a and Kukio. DGA completed over $229M in total sales over the 5-year period between 2003 and 2008 and Dean’s personal sales volume was $197M+ with an average sale of $1.6M, his highest land sale was $9.95M, his highest commercial sale was $6M and his highest single-family home sale was $3.8M.
While Dean continues to specialize in the sales and marketing of private golf course communities and luxury branded residences he also enjoys working with investors and developers utilizing the vast knowledge he has acquired from 35+ years of real estate sales and marketing experience.
Dean's second passion is golfing with his friends and family and the golf-real estate combination led to the formation of The Private Golf Group, a network of Sotheby’s International Realty agents and brokers who specialize in private golf communities around the world.
